Harvard Square Ocktober Fest Main Stage Headliner

for the annual Harvard Sqaure Oktober Fest.
We are on the Main Stage at Noon to get things off and are the only band to be featured on the Main Stage this year.
At 2pm we set up street side on the corner of JFK and Mount Auburn for a street show and play an afternoon of reggae vibes, originals, remakes, dubs, ska and all sorts of fun. Over 250 vendors and the Honk parade are two more reasons not to miss this event.
Beverly Main Streets Block Party
From the Beverly Main Streets web site....Now celebrating 5 years! Come join us at THE BLOCK, our downtown street party, on Saturday, September 16th from 5:30-9:30pm. THE BLOCK will take place on one block of Cabot Street from Pond Street to Federal Street. Guests can walk around, meet up with friends, listen to live music and enjoy street food, beer and wine. Because alcohol will be served, this is an event geared towards adults. Everyone is welcome to attend THE BLOCK, but there will not be any kids’ activities. Our other events like Arts Fest and Beverly’s New Year offer kids’ activities, but not this one. Dreadrocks is brought to you by Rasta Pasta Pizzeria.

Jamaica 55 - Reggae in the Park
Jamaica 55 Reggae Night in the Park is hosted by Elma Lewis Playhouse in the Playhouse in the Park summer music series by Franklin Park Coalition. Two local reggae bands will be featured at this picnic style community celebration of Jamaican music and culture. Reggae Night in the Park will take place at the Playstead Parkstand in Franklin Park. Local Caribbean food will be for sale.

Caribbean American Heritage Festival
In celebration of National Caribbean Heritage Month (June) and to broaden the cultural diversity in the state of Massachusetts, Authentic Caribbean Foundation Inc. works collaboratively to plan and host the Caribbean American Heritage Festival - Massachusetts (“Art, Film, Food and Fashion”) in honor of Caribbean American Heritage Month; which celebrates Caribbean-American culture and contributions, both locally and nationally in the month of June.
National Caribbean American Heritage Month Celebration
In June 2005, the House of Representatives unanimously adopted H. Con. Res. 71, sponsored by Congresswoman Barbara Lee, recognizing the significance of Caribbean people and their descendants in the history and culture of the United States. On February 14, 2006, the resolution similarly passed the Senate, culminating a two-year, bipartisan and bicameral effort. The Proclamation was issued by President George Bush on June 6, 2006 and since the declaration, the White House has issued an annual proclamation recognizing June as Caribbean-American Heritage Month. Authentic Caribbean Foundation Inc. a non-profit organization and a large supporter and contributor in the Boston Caribbean Diaspora is proud to highlight the Proclamation in honoring the month of June as National Caribbean American Heritage month. Dread Rocks is pleased to be part of this Celebration in 2017.

Seasons Opener - Dread Rocks kicks off the 2017 summer concert season with 100,000 friends at annual Harvard Square MayFaire celebration. Oktoberfest Street Show - Harvard Square at JFK and Wintrop Park
When it's nice we do it twice! After we kick off OktoberFest on the main stage at Noon, we set up on the street at JFK and Winthrop Park in Harvard Square 2pm for an afternoon of up close eye level reggae. This is our 7th year playing Harvard Square's Oktoberfest and one of our favorite events to play. Good Vibes!!!!
